K-1 Earth Science/ Geology
Students will investigate Earth systems and geology and how scientists can use that information to understand the world around them. As part of our K-12 Quantum Initiative, we'll investigate rocks, soil, water, wind, and erosion to make a map of Earth's layers - including our magnetic core.
2-3 Energy
Campers will learn about and discuss ideas about energy and how it is used. Activities may include the Van De Graff, operating an energy tube, experimenting with potential and kinetic energy, building/operating Snap Circuits, discussing the Scientific Method, and discussing the use of force in science.
4-5 Space
As a part of our K-12 Quantum initiative, students will explore what makes up a solar system by investigating the sun, planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and stars. They will then design their own model solar system (focusing on a habitable home planet) making connections between its features and the characteristics of our own solar system.
